The birth of KASI – Committee on Architecture and Standardization of ITS

A Committee on Architecture and Standardization of ITS(abbreviated KASI) has been constituted - a collegial authority of a permanent nature began to work by the Board of the Association of ITS POLAND. A President of the Committee is Dr. Tomasz Kaminski - the head of Transport Management and Telematics Centre in Motor Transport Institute. Committee formally constituted on 22 May 2014. through the adoption of Resolution No 1 by the Association Board.

KASI was created as a result of the existing cooperation between companies and member organizations operating within the ITS Poland Association. The main objective of the committee is to establish and comply with market standards of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) in Poland. KASI will provide a platform for exchange of knowledge and experiences between participants of this rapidly growing market. In part of its activities, committee will coordinate the action on standardization and cooperate with institutions dealing with research and certification of hardware and software.

‘This extremely valuable initiative is welcomed especially because it is a response to a need, repeatedly signaled by the representatives of the public sector, to dialogue with entrepreneurs in particular for the establishment rules and standards for ITS solutions implemented with the principles of the Public Procurement Law. KASI is also the first committee in our Association. The fact of its establishment  introduces ITS POLAND to a new phase of the organization. I would like to declare full support for the activities of the KASI Committee’ – says Marek Litwin – President of the ITS POLAND Association.

The activities of the committee, consisting of  transfer of knowledge aggregated within companies, research institutions and individual members of the association, will be supported Prof. Wojciech Suchorzewski (President of the Program Committee of Polish ITS Congress) and Prof. Ryszard Krystek (Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Infrastructure in 2004-2005) by their knowledge, authority, and most importantly a pen.
KASI is open to active cooperation of other members of the Association. Application declarations to the working groups can be submitted personally on the occasion of PKITS May on 28-29.
