Pilot traffic measurements on Bavarian highways
Neurosoft Sp. z o. o. has won the tender and signed a contract with the Southern Bavaria Freeways Authority (Autobahndirektion Südbayern - Germany) to carry out comprehensive traffic measurements in Bavaria, with particular emphasis on through traffic and heavy transport.
This pilot project, from the technological point of view, is being implemented in cooperation with our German partner, DTV Verkehrsconsult GmbH from Aachen, specializing in statistical analysis of measurements and traffic modeling. Within the agreement, measurements in over 80 points located on highways in the region will be carried out in six months’ time.
The main objective of the project is to obtain detailed information on the number of foreign vehicles, especially of transport-related heavy traffic, and to identify the main routes of their travel to the south of Germany. Additionally, there will be generated standard generic statistics on the traffic volume, passing speed and directions of movement with vehicles divided into classes and regions of origin.
‘It has always been our goal to provide comprehensive solutions at the highest level. We love challenges, and thanks to a strong product development team, we can customize our systems to meet customer needs in a short time’ – ensures CEO Janusz Wrobel.
Neurosoft gained the advantage over competitive offers by using proprietary systems (as measurement technology) for identification and classification of vehicles, based only on the video detection. This includes modules for automatic recognition of license plates and vehicle’s make and model, supplemented by data anonymization function belonging to the so-called ‘sensitive data’. It should be mentioned that despite the restrictive regulations the project was approved by the Bavarian Office for Personal Data Protection.
